Lumecca Laser

WHAT IS LUMECCA?

Lumecca is a powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) that treats pigmented and vascular lesions. After one use, patients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of the skin. Lumecca operates using photothermolysis, which provides a photo facial through the delivery of comfortable light treatments.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?

WHAT STEPS SHOULD I TAKE BEFORE THE PROCEDURE?

Avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning one month before treatment.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING AND AFTER LUMECCA?

During treatment, a bright light from the Lumecca will feel like a light elastic sensation. Redness and slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and subside within an hour. Over the next 24 to 48 hours, you may see a darkening of pigmented spots. In the week afterwards, the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone. After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch and disappear, or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?

After the first session, you’ll see improved skin appearance. Many sessions provide even better results. The treatment regime depends on the severity of skin damage, skin type, type of treatment (vascular vs sun damage), and energy settings.

HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE RESULTS?

After the initial session, you’ll notice improved sun damage and skin complexion. The skin will look younger and more brilliant over time with the most visible results after 1 to 2 weeks. ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Most patients don’t experience side effects or skin reactions. If they do, it usually resolves within a few hours. Patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment. Avoid direct sunlight and tanning. Avoid strenuous exercise or physical activity for at least 48 hours post-treatment.

Morpheus8 can penetrate deeper into the skin than any other micro-needling device, going as deep as 4mm. Patient comfort is a major advantage because of the sharper needles and tiny punctures it causes without tugging or pulling. M8 can also treat wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, surgical scars, and more.

Morpheus8 is incredibly unique as it can puncture 4mm deep, which results in fat melting so you can contour and morph different parts of the body.

WHEN CAN I PUT MAKEUP ON AFTER TREATMENT?

Since patient downtime is minimal, you may apply makeup 1 to 2 days after the treatment. You should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week (depending on treatment parameters).

WHAT KIND OF POST-PROCEDURE CARE IS REQUIRED?

Moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that you use a good, broad-spectrum sunscreen every day. Also, to reduce future risk of skin cancer, apply sunscreens to reduce wrinkles and slow the aging process.
